C0660 - CEC Certificate Extension
Introduction
CEC Certificate Extensions are intended as an exceptional solution in case a CEC Certificate expires and the Vendor cannot accommodate a CEC Assessment near the time of expiry of the CEC Certificate.
A CEC Certificate Extension will only be granted subject to the following conditions:
- The CEC Certificate the Vendor requests the CEC Certificate Extension for, has either been:
- Initially granted less than 12 months ago, or
- Has been renewed less than 12 months ago based on the outcome of a CEC Assessment;
- the Vendor confirms that the product and the site(s) listed on the CEC Certificate are substantially unchanged since the latest CEC Assessment;
- Vendor formally requests the CEC Certificate Extension using this form.
Note that this has the consequence that a CEC Certificate Extension cannot be directly followed by another CEC Certificate Extension, but that after a CEC Certificate Extension has been granted once, it must be followed by the full CEC Certificate Renewal process to prevent the CEC Certificate from lapsing.
Being granted a CEC Certificate Extension does not imply that the product will pass a subsequent CEC Assessment. For example a more stringent CEC Baseline may prevent renewal of the CEC Certificate in future.
Process
The Vendor downloads and completes the CEC Certificate Extension Order form.
CEC Admin presents the request to Mastercard.
CEC Admin issues an extended CEC Certificate.
