Purpose of the cecAP

The CEC Assessment Plan form, subsequently referred to as “CECAP”, is used throughout the CEC Certification process to define and review one Environmental Claim.

Where to get the cecAP?

The cecAP is included in the CEC Document Package provided to vendors once they have signed the CEC NDA, and as an update from time to time.

If the cecAP form you have is more than 6 months old, it is recommended to ask your assessor for an updated version.

Structure of the cecAP

The cecAP consists of a set of worksheets:

Name of CECAP worksheetPurpose of CECAP worksheet
Coversheet

Define the vendor and contact information for this Environmental Claim

High level information about the Environmental Claim, including the commercial product name, and the type of product or service.

Names of the manufacturing sites to be included in the Environmental Claim

Summary information about the CEC Assessment result, once the CEC Assessment has been completed

Claim DetailsThis worksheet is used to define the KPIs specifying the environmental impact of the Environmental Claim, such as ent energy consumption to make one unit, the mass of recycled material used, and the carbon footprint, according the rules of the CEC Scheme.
AP ClaimAssessment Plan (“AP”) for the assessment of the high level information defined on the coversheet
AP ProgramAssessment Plan (“AP”) for the assessment of the vendor’s activities necessary to produce the product or service subject to the Environmental Claim.
AP ClaimAssessment Plan (“AP”) for the assessment of the KPIs defining the environmental impact, and their supporting information.
AP RegressionsAssessment Plan ("AP") for the assessment of regressions, if any. Regressions are KPIs were the performance of the product or service subjects to the Environmental Claim is worse relative to the applicable CEC Baseline.

Completing the cecAP Form

Initial completion of the cecAP Form

1.Initial completion of the form
1.1Chose a Baseline in the "Coversheet" worksheet in field D32.
The "CEC Baseline" column in the "Claim Details" worksheet then should automatically be populated with the data from the CEC Baseline.
1.2Complete the Technical Contact information in the Coversheet, fields D5 to D16.
List the sites to be included in this claim in columns D19 to D26. Only list more than one site when the KPIs defined in the worksheet "Claim Details" are representative for more than one site, and you have calculated weighted average values for each KPI.
Such weighted average must weigh each site by the number of products subject to this claim the site produces.
1.3In the worksheet "Claim Description", complete the relevant fields in column E.
1.4In the worksheet "Claim Details", complete the relevant fields in column G.
Optionally, in the worksheet "Claim Details", complete the fields in column F, to report an internal Baseline, should you choose to do so. If you report an internal Baseline, it might be considered by CEC in a future revision of the public Baseline.
1.5Complete the blue sections of the worksheets 'AP Claim', 'AP Program', 'AP Metrics'
1.6If the claim shows significant regressions, then go to the "Regressions" worksheet.
Metrics with significant regressions are shown with a coloured background; Metrics without regressions are shown with a grey background.
Complete columns J and K for the Metrics with significant regressions, following the guidance given in the notes in the cells I10, J10, and K10.
1.7Email the completed cecAPform to contact@cecocert.comt
